Shane Ball

MMA Coach

Shane’s background as a chef laid the foundation for everything he believes about mastery and coaching. He completed his culinary apprenticeship at the age of 18 and went on to work in some of the best restaurants in Canada before earning the opportunity to work for Gordon Ramsay in London. That environment demanded obsession with detail, accountability, pressure, and constant refinement. There was no room for shortcuts. That same relentless pursuit of excellence is what drives his approach as a coach in the Dunamis MMA program.

Shane won gold at the WKA Canadian Muay Thai Nationals in 2019, but his path has never been about titles. He joined Jake and Dunamis the day the doors opened and has devoted a significant portion of his life to becoming not only a better fighter, but a true student of the fight game.

While his foundation was in Muay Thai, Shane always had a deep interest in MMA as a complete system, particularly how striking functions within MMA under real fight conditions. That curiosity led him to shift his training focus and deliberately develop a complete MMA skill set, studying and training every aspect of the sport.

As Jake’s cornerman and pad man, Shane has had direct access to the mindset, preparation, and professionalism required to compete at the highest levels. Cornering Jake at some of the biggest events in combat sports has placed him in elite rooms and training environments alongside some of the best fighters in the world today. Those experiences are filtered, refined, and passed directly to the members of Dunamis MMA.

Shane believes strongly in a constant white belt mentality. Always learning. Always refining. At the same time, he places a heavy emphasis on developing an iron clad mind and an unshakable belief that it is possible to compete with and beat the best.

Throughout his life, Shane has intentionally surrounded himself with elite performers across different disciplines. The lesson has always been the same. There are no secrets. Becoming elite comes down to a relentless desire to learn, adapt, fine tune, work, and never take shortcuts. These principles are the foundation of his coaching systems at Dunamis.
